The play is set in and under the opera house in Paris in the late 1800's. The disfigured Phantom, who lives in the opera house, beyond an underground lake, falls in love with soprano Christine and is ready to do everything for her, even kill.
He gets competition from the young and handsome Raoul and the action develops into a love triangle between these three. Christine is pulled between a sensual love and her biggest love.
Phantom of the Opera is a musical phenomenon with some of the most lavish sets, costumes and special effects ever created for the stage.
It had its world premiere at Her Majesty's Theatre in London on 9th October 1986 and has since played over 5,000 performances in London. It has been shown in 90 cities worldwide and has won more than 50 major theater awards.
