Newcastle United FC, also known as The Magpies or The Toon is a British football club from Newcastle in England. The club was formed in 1892 through a merger of Law Newcastle East End FC and Newcastle West End FC and is currently playing in the Premier League. Since the team's founding, the home matches has been held at the Sports Direct Arena and trainings in Darsley Park.
Among the merits, is four victories in the English First Division titles and six in the FA Cup, three victories in the Football League Northern League and a victory in charity race; Community Shield. The club has also participated in UEFA competitions, which won the UEFA Intertoto Cup 2006 season. The club played in the 2009/2010 season, the Championship after a 18th place in the Premier League season 2008/2009. Newcastle won the Championship in season 2009/2010 and will then play in the Premier League.
