West Bromwich Albion FC, also known as West Brom, The Baggies, Albion, Albion, The Throstles or WBA, is a football club in West Bromwich, West Midlands. The club was formed in 1878 by workers from Salter Spring Works in West Bromwich, and have played their home games at The Hawthorns since 1900.
Albion was a founding member of the Football League in 1888 and has spent most of its existence in the top level of English football. They have been champions of England only once, in 1919-1920, but has been more successful in the FA Cup with five victories.
The team has played in blue and white stripes during much of their history. They have a long-standing rivalry with Aston Villa, but also Wolverhampton Wanderers, who they disputed in the Black Country derby.
